Ø Holds the school record for most points in a career scored in the State Track Meet (84 ½ from 1978-1981)

 

1978 –   8 points (2nd in the two mile run)                            

 

1980 – 10 points (1st in the 880 yd run)

                 10 points (1st in the mile run)

                   8 points (2nd place in the pole vault)

                   1 point (6th place in the mile relay)

                 29 total points as a junior

 

    1981 -    8 points (2nd place in the pole vault)

                10 points (1st place in the mile run)

                  1 point (6th place in the 440 relay)

                10 points (1st in the 880 yd. run)

                  2 ½ points (Tied 5th in the mile relay)

                31 ½ points as a senior

 

Ø Winner of the H.J. Stegeman award at the 1981 State Track Meet for scoring the most points in the State Meet.

Ø Led his track teams to three State Runner-up finishes (1978,79,80)

Ø Led his track team to a State Championship (1981)

 

*Frank may have been the most versatile track athlete to ever run for GAC.  He proved his versatility by earning state points in field events, distance events and even relays.  Frank finished 2nd ( to Hershel Walker) in the H.J. Stegeman Award in 1978 but had a strong showing in 1979 to win it.
